Japanese Meisen kimono 1910 - 1955
Omeshi silk Kimono
Omeshi silk is made in the same Ikat technique as Meisen silk, but the silk is a more heavy kind.
Meisen kimonos are also done in a mix of silk/ramie.
Ramie is a flowering plant in the nettle family, spun together with silk, it gives a very strong durable fabric.
