Omeshi silk Kimono

 Omeshi silk is made in the same Ikat technique as Meisen silk, but the silk is a more heavy kind.

Meisen kimonos are also done  in a mix of silk/ramie.

Ramie is a flowering plant in the nettle family, spun together with silk, it gives a very strong durable fabric.
